Offline mode
FenixPyre requires an internet connection to ensure that authorized users can access encrypted files. However, there are times when users need to work with encrypted files offline. To meet this need while maintaining control and protection, FenixPyre offers the Airplane Mode/Offline Mode feature.
How Airplane Mode/Offline Mode Works:
The Airplane Mode/Offline Mode feature allows users to access their encrypted files even when they are not connected to the internet. Administrators can control and configure this feature to balance offline access with data security.
Admin Control: Administrators can select which users are allowed to access files offline. This gives the organization flexibility in granting offline access while keeping sensitive data secure.
Time-Limited Access: Admins can set a time limit for offline access, ensuring that files can only be accessed offline for a set period, up to 90 days. After this period, users will need to reconnect to the internet to continue accessing the files.
This feature ensures that users can remain productive even in offline environments while giving organizations full control over their data security and access
File Access Logs for Offline Mode in FenixPyre
FenixPyre provides detailed file access logs to track user actions on files in offline mode. These logs help administrators maintain oversight of file access and activity, ensuring secure file handling even when users are offline.
When a user is offline, the FenixPyre app records file access actions and stores them locally. Once the user returns to online mode, the app automatically uploads the activity logs to the FenixPyre platform for review.
Specific File Access Logs Collected for Offline Mode:
ADD-OFFLINE: Logged when a user marks a folder for offline use via the right-click options. This action enables offline access to the specified folder.
REMOVE-OFFLINE: Logged when a user removes a folder from offline use using the right-click options. The folder will no longer be available offline.
GO-OFFLINE: Logged when a user switches to offline mode using the system tray app option. This action allows the user to work with files offline.
GO-ONLINE: Logged when a user switches back to online mode using the system tray app option. This re-establishes the connection to the FenixPyre platform.
OFFLINE_ENCRYPT: Logged when a new file is encrypted while the user is offline. This ensures that files remain protected even without an active internet connection.
OFFLINE_OPEN: Logged when a user opens an encrypted file while offline. The app records this action to ensure file access is tracked.
OFFLINE_EDIT: Logged when a user edits an encrypted file while offline. Any changes made to the file are logged for future reference.
OFFLINE_DENY: Logged when a user is denied access to open an encrypted file while offline. This typically occurs if the user doesn't have the necessary permissions or if the file is restricted.
OFFLINE_REVOKE: Logged when a user's access to encrypted files is revoked in offline mode. This happens when the user's offline access time expires, and they are no longer able to access the files until they reconnect to the internet.
