# How to open encrypted files

**Step 1: Open the Shared Link**

* Access the **shared link** where the file is stored.

**Step 2: Navigate to the File**

* Locate the file you want to open in the shared link.

**Step 3: Open the File**

You can open the file in any of the following ways:

1. **Click the File Name**
   * The file will open in a new tab.
   * If you have edit access, it will open in **edit mode**.
   * If you have view-only access, it will open in **view mode**.
2. **Use the Three Dots Menu**

   * Click on the three dots at the right end of the file.
   * Select **"Open in New Tab"** or **"Preview"** to open the file.

Your file will now be accessible in the appropriate mode based on your permissions.
