Automatic File Locking and Unlocking for Office Files
FenixPyre introduces automatic file locking and unlocking for Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) which are synced to your desktop from OneDrive or SharePoint. This feature ensures secure and controlled file management, eliminating the risk of conflicts during collaboration.
Compliance Mode, powered by Protect-by-Process (PxP) :
FenixPyre Compliance Mode, powered by Protect-by-Process (PxP), enables seamless CMMC compliance. Users can easily toggle Compliance Mode on or off. When compliance mode is disabled, access to encrypted files is restricted, ensuring sensitive data stays secure and protected.
Bug Fixes
Auto-Save in Excel: Fixed the issue where auto-save remained enabled for Excel files even when OneDrive collaboration was disabled. Auto-save now correctly follows organization's collaboration settings.
Save-As Excel: Resolved the "Save-As" issue for unencrypted Excel files. Users can now save these files without any issues.
BSOD Issue: The rare occurrence of DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD issue related to USB devices in Windows 11 Pro has been resolved.
Save-As PDF to Protected Network Share: Resolved the issue where saving as PDF from Word, Excel, or PowerPoint to a protected network share created incomplete files without notifying the user.
Install and Uninstall Instructions for v6.3.0
For instructions on installing, uninstalling and upgrading to version 6.3.0, refer to the section below.
Before installing 6.3.0 please whitelist FenixPyre process names in your Anti-virus/EDR solutions
You can auto-update from 6.2.0 to 6.3.0 by clicking on tray app -> Actions -> Check and Install Updates. You cannot auto-update from 6.0.0 or below to 6.3.0. :::
For agents running versions 5.0.0 and above:
To complete the upgrade, follow these steps:
Double-click on FPUpdater.exe. The tool will automatically:
Uninstall the current agent version
Reboot the PC
Install version 6.3.0
Reboot the PC again
Users will be required to sign in after the final reboot
For agents running versions below 5.0.0:
If you are running an agent version below 5.0.0, follow these steps to upgrade to v6.3.0:
Reboot the PC
Install version 6.3.0 using the FPInstaller.exe file
Reboot the PC
Users will be required to sign in after the reboot
