# How to encrypt files

### Select the files

Navigate to the desired files, right-click, and select:\
**Anchor my Data.**&#x20;

### Encryption progress

A new window will be opened in your browser with a progress meter, once completed the following message will display indicating your data is encrypted.

Please note, users must be logged into FenixPyre prior to encrypting. Users will be redirected to the log-in page to begin the process if they are not already logged in (more information).

There is a limit of 500 files that can be encrypted simultaneously. Only allowed file extensions listed under the user's designated user policy can be encrypted.
